Toronto's Buskerfest

I was in downtown Toronto helping a friend shop for a camera.  The annual Buskerfest happened to be going on.  It's too bad they only set one day aside for this creative outpouring. Everyday there should be huge, oversized puppets dancing down our major downtown streets.

Canadian National Exhibition

My yearly visit to the "EX".  I go down with the intention of honing my street photography skills, the CNE is a great place for that. Tons of people everywhere, all shapes and sizes, kids running around laughing and crying, all that you'd expect at a huge carnival.  It's actually a little overwhelming and that's the problem.  It's too much and I'm too inexperienced.  There's so much going on it's hard to focus- for both my brain and my camera.  Street photography is extremely hard. To capture that decisive moment, uncluttered, well composed, a strong narrative and yeah, in focus as well.
There are no "people" shots of my trip to the EX this year, I'm working on it, I fared better last year.  For now I give you a few artsy postcard shots of structures, inanimate objects and things that don't move or run away.

Godfrey Classic

The annual golf gathering of the Godfrey clan at the cottage, except no one really wants to bother with the golf when there's so much of a lazy, summer weekend to enjoy.

Me, Myself And I

No, it's not self love, I just need models and I'm available.  Portrait work is something I've rarely done but it's one of my favourite photography disciplines to look at.  I've spent a little more time recently setting up some strobes and learning about light and how to control it.  And using myself as the test subject.  It's a little frustrating because you're sort of shooting blind especially when trying to focus at shallow depth of field, but I'm learning and having some fun, not so much fun staring at my ugly mug during the post processing.
